GlueStick Content Quality Standards
GlueStick LLC (“GlueStick,” “we,” or “us”) has adopted this policy to ensure the consistency, safety, and educational value of all content submitted to GlueStick’s content database by our content partners (“Partners”) for use in our mobile app and website (our “Platform”). All content submitted to the Platform for use by GlueStick’s users must adhere to the following standards. These standards speak only as of the date hereof: they are intended to evolve as GlueStick continues to grow and learn more about its contributors, Users, and mission. Partners will be notified of any significant updates to this policy. GlueStick reserves the right (in our sole discretion) to remove or reject any content, at any time, for any reason, without notice or the possibility of appeal. We would prefer not to, so please do not make us. The remainder of this policy serves to provide Partners guidance on how to comply with our community guidelines.
1. Content Value and Appropriateness
All content must offer clear educational or creative value to GlueStick’s target audience of children and their caregivers (the “Users”).
Content must be easy to follow and achievable by young children with minimal adult supervision. Projects shall specify an appropriate target age range.
Any references to obscene, sexual, violent, threatening, crude, racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, or otherwise inappropriate or discriminatory content within text, image, or video content are strictly prohibited. This includes referential or “dog whistle” content intended to mask or obscure a prohibited topic.
Content may not enable or encourage harm, intimidation, or violence, including self-harm, harassment, or bullying. Content may not be libelous, slanderous, or even simply “mean-spirited”.
Submissions that promote or instruct the use or creation of real or realistic weapons, including firearms, knives, or other items intended to cause harm, are prohibited. Educational projects involving historical or educational models (e.g. catapults, trebuchets) may be accepted if they clearly demonstrate educational value and include comprehensive safety guidelines.
2. Themes and Tagging
Each piece of content should be tagged with one or more relevant themes, such as "Spring," "Scissor skills," "Ocean Animals," etc.
GlueStick reserves the right to add or remove tags during content review to improve user experience and search functionality. GlueStick maintains sole authority to direct the tagging of content.
3. Project Supplies and Safe Execution
The GlueStick platform maintains a list of approved supplies (the “Supply List”), which is designed to improve user experience, facilitate affiliate revenue capture, and maintain appropriate safety warnings. In order to assist us with meeting these goals:
Projects must be executable using the Supply List, which is available within the project creation interface.
If a Partnerwishes to use a new supply type, they must email GlueStick Support at support@gluestick.app to request a supply be added to the Supply List. It is our sole discretion whether we add the supply.
Partners must test their projects prior to submission to ensure clarity, usability, and safety.
All content must prioritize child safety, including clearly marked warnings for hazardous supplies (e.g., scissors, ovens) and the suggestion of adult supervision when necessary. The GlueStick Platform will attempt to insert these warnings automatically, but it is the responsibility of each of our Partners to ensure they are present before submission.
4. Watermarking
Partners may include one small, unobtrusive watermark in images included with their submission. This should not distract from the project.
Watermarks must reflect your brand (as identified in your Content Partner Agreement) and not infringe on the copyright of any other third-party, including any other Partner or GlueStick itself.
5. Content Structure
All content must include exactly one tutorial. Submissions that aggregate multiple tutorials are strictly prohibited.
All submissions must include a structured breakdown of:
Materials Needed: List of all supplies required.
Instructions: Step-by-step guide to completing the project.
Safety Considerations: Highlight any potential hazards (e.g., sharp objects, hot glue, etc.), especially for projects requiring adult assistance.
This structure will be enforced during the content upload process, ensuring consistency and accessibility across all GlueStick content.
6. Visual and Accessibility Guidelines
Images must be high-resolution and free of distracting elements. Backgrounds should be plain and free of clutter.
All videos must include subtitles and/or captions in order to ensure accessibility by all Users. GlueStick retains the right to add or modify content in order to comply with all rules and regulations related to accessibility.
The content must be visually engaging without overwhelming young viewers or readers or distracting them from the task of completing the project.
7. Religious, Identity-Oriented and Political Content
At GlueStick, we value diversity and strive to create a welcoming, inclusive space for all users. That said, GlueStick does not endorse or promote any specific religious, political, or identity-based ideologies. As such, all content submissions and projects must avoid appearing to advocate for, or against, a particular belief, religion, or political position. Content that reflects religious, cultural, or identity-related symbols (such as crosses, menorahs, pride flags, etc.) is encouraged as part of our commitment to celebrating a wide range of traditions and beliefs. However, submissions must adhere to the following guidelines:
Prohibited Content: Hate, bigotry, polarization, proselytizing and political canvassing, are strictly prohibited. Content that promotes or disparages any religion, belief, identity, or political stance will not be tolerated.
Holiday and Cultural Submissions: Content related to specific holidays or cultural celebrations is allowed, but may not include references to religious texts, prayers, blessings, or evangelistic messages. Content should focus on the educational and creative aspects of these traditions. Promoting cultural awareness is encouraged. Attempting to convert others to your belief system is not.
Positive Celebration: Religious and identity-oriented content must be presented as a celebration of your personal beliefs or culture, without disparaging or criticizing others. This includes all forms of content, whether religious, cultural, or identity-based.
Political Content: The GlueStick platform focuses on education and creative engagement. We ask all users to respect that by avoiding divisive political content. Submissions that support or oppose any specific political party, candidate, or platform are prohibited. Content depicting the likeness or slogans of any major political figure from the last 25 years—such as past or current presidents, candidates, or other prominent political officials—is not allowed.
8. Content Uniqueness; Proprietary Rights
Content must be original and should not duplicate existing GlueStick projects or those available on other platforms.
AI-generated images of projects or project steps are strictly prohibited. All images must reflect real, partner made projects.
Content may not incorporate or be intended for use as advertising of third-party products or services, except to the extent specifically allowed in your Content Partner Agreement.
Content may not utilize or incorporate any third-party intellectual property for which you do not have a valid license, as indicated in your Content Partner Agreement.
