Make Day of the Dead Skeleton Craft

    Your creative buddy says:
"Let's stick together and make this one!"

Step 1: Get your skeleton template ready.

    May need grown-up help
First, ask a grown-up to help you print the free skeleton template. Then, use the template to cut out all the parts for your skeleton from paper plates. Paper plates are strong, so your skeleton will be sturdy!

Step 2: Make your skeleton colorful!

Turn the cut-out paper plate pieces so the dull side is facing up. Use your colorful markers to draw fun patterns and designs on each piece. If you want to draw fancy designs, you can use a pencil first, then color over it with markers.

Step 3: Punch holes for connecting.

Ask a grown-up to help you use the hole punch. Look at your template to see where all the holes need to go on your skeleton pieces. Punch a hole in each spot.

Step 4: Put your skeleton together.

Now it's time to connect all the parts! Use the metal brads to join the pieces together. Start with the skull and work your way down the body until your whole skeleton is assembled.

    Step 5: Decorate the ribs.

Get your 8 clothespins. Pick out 8 different rolls of colorful washi tape. Carefully cover one side of each clothespin with a different washi tape. Press the tape down firmly so it sticks well. Ask a grown-up to help you trim any extra tape from the edges.

Step 6: Add the ribs to your skeleton.

Now that your clothespins are decorated, clip them onto the T-bone piece in the middle of your skeleton's body. These clothespins will be your skeleton's colorful ribs!
