    Make Easy Preschool Turkey Craft

    Your creative buddy says:
"Are you as excited to make this as I am?"

Step 1: Cut out your turkey pieces

First, download and print the turkey craft template. Use the template to cut out the turkey body and wings from brown construction paper, or any color you like. Then, use small pieces of paper to cut out a yellow beak and a red wattle. You can also cut out eyes from the template or use googly eyes if you have them.

Step 2: Put your turkey's face together

Now, let's put your turkey's body together! Use your glue stick to attach the beak to the turkey's face. Then, add the eyes. Last, glue the wings onto the turkey's body. If you want, you can use markers or crayons to add more details to your turkey.

Step 3: Draw a guide for the feathers

Choose a piece of construction paper to be the background for your turkey art. Place the turkey body you just made on the bottom center of this paper. Use a pencil to lightly draw a line around the top part of the turkey's body. This line will help you know where to stamp the feathers later. Do not glue the turkey body down yet! Just lift it off the paper and set it aside.

Step 4: Make a feather stamp

Find the feather shape on your template. Use this shape as a guide to bend a pipe cleaner into a feather stamp. Bend the extra part of the pipe cleaner up to make a handle so it's easy to hold.

Step 5: Stamp the turkey feathers

    MESSY! Extra cleanup
Now that you have your feather stamp, squeeze out your favorite colors of paint onto a paper plate or some newspaper. This part can get messy, so ask an adult for help if you need it! Place your pipe cleaner 'stamp' into the paint and start making feathers. Use the pencil line you drew earlier to know where your turkey's body will go later. Keep adding feathers in different colors until your turkey looks just right. You can use the same stamp for all colors or make a new stamp for each color. Set your paper aside and let the paint dry completely. Maybe go have a snack while you wait!

Step 6: Finish your cute turkey art

    MESSY! Extra cleanup
Once the paint has dried completely, use your glue stick to attach the turkey body to the center of the stamped feathers. Press down firmly so the glue holds well. Now you have a cute turkey!
