    Make Jack-o-lantern Craft with Ghost

    Your creative buddy says:
"Let's stick together and make this one!"

Step 1: Get and color your printable.

    May need grown-up help
First, ask a grown-up to help you get the pumpkin template. It's best to print it on thick cardstock paper. Then, use your crayons or markers to color the jack-o-lantern and the ghost. Don't forget to color the green stem! You can make your ghost any color you want, like purple with pink polka dots! If you want, you can even add tiny googly eyes to your ghost.

Step 2: Cut out your colored pieces.

Now that you have colored your jack-o-lantern and ghost, carefully cut them out. Make sure to cut along the zig-zag line to separate the top of the pumpkin from the bottom.

Step 3: Make a pocket for your ghost.

Take a small strip of paper from your leftover scraps. It should be about half an inch wide and a little longer than the bottom of your pumpkin. Use your glue stick to glue each end of this strip to the back of the bottom part of your jack-o-lantern. This will make a little 'pocket' for your ghost. When it's dry, trim any extra paper that hangs over the edges of the pumpkin.

Step 4: Add a hole for the hinge

    May need grown-up help
Take the top part of your pumpkin and place it slightly over the bottom part. You need to make sure there's enough space to punch a hole where the top and bottom meet. Ask a grown-up to help you punch a hole through both the top and bottom sections of the pumpkin if needed.

Step 5: Attach with the brad

Put a metal brad through the hole. Bend the two little legs of the brad flat on the back. Now your pumpkin top can open and close like a door!

Step 6: Put your ghost in the pumpkin.

Now, slide your little ghost into the pocket you made in Step 3. Turn your pumpkin to the front and open its top. Ta-da! Your ghost is hiding inside! You can take the paper ghost in and out of the jack-o-lantern whenever you want to play.
