About This Project

A 20–40 minutes craft for ages 3–6, using supplies you likely already have — Tape, Paint, and Markers.

GlueStick supports kids from setup to cleanup. After they choose a project, we guide them through gathering the supplies, making it, and cleaning up when they're done. We'll even help them share it safely with trusted family and friends.

Ad-free and kid-safe library — designed by a mom who wants kids to explore and create independently.

Make Give Me A High Five Handprint Father’s Day Card

    Your creative buddy says:
"I can't wait to make a project with you!"

    Step 1: Fold paper

Fold a piece of construction paper to make a blank card. Make sure it is large enough to hide a hand print from each child.

    Step 2: Make handprints

Use acrylic paint to make one hand print for each child. Let the paint dry, then cut out the handprints. You can leave a border around the hand print.

    Step 3: Write messages

Write a message on the front of the card that says “Just wanted to say…”. Write a message on the inside of the card that says “High five to the best dad ever!”

Step 4: Make the hands pop out

Make a spiral with a pipe cleaner so the hand will pop out of the card. It works best if each hand print has its own pipe cleaner. Tape the end of the pipe cleaner to the backside of the hand print, then tape the other end of the pipe cleaner to the inside of the card. Make sure the hands are placed so they are hidden inside the card.

    Step 5: Decorate the card

Add some hand drawn kid artwork to your card.
