    Make Paper Plate Christmas Craft

    Your creative buddy says:
"Are you as excited to make this as I am?"

Step 1: Punch holes in the paper plate.

    SHARP! Grown-up required
Use the hole punch to make holes around the bottom half of your paper plate. Make the holes close together. You can skip punching holes in the very bottom part of the plate.

Step 2: Lace yarn through the holes to make snow.

Cut a piece of white yarn about a yard long. Put tape on one end of the yarn to make it easier to push through the holes. Hold the plate with the front facing you. Push the yarn through the first hole and use tape to secure the end on the back of the plate. Weave the yarn back and forth across the bottom part of the plate until it looks like a snowy area. You might need to cut more pieces of yarn to get enough snow. When you finish a piece of yarn, tape it to the back of the plate and cut off any extra.

Step 3: Color and cut out Christmas characters.

    May need grown-up help
Print the Christmas character printables. It's best to print them on card stock, but it's not required. You can also glue your characters onto paper plates to make them stronger. If you cannot print, you can draw your own Christmas characters. Color the characters you want to use in your Christmas scene. Then, roughly cut out each of the winter craft characters. You don't need to cut perfectly.

Step 4: Play with your Christmas scene and tell a story.

Now it's time to play with your paper plate Christmas craft! Place the characters into the "snow" however you like. Change the scenes and make up a story as you play.
