Household Supply Cupboard

Each GlueStick Household manages a personal supply cupboard.

Tracking supplies in your Household Supply Cupboard allows GlueStick to identify what supplies you have on hand and what you might be missing to complete any project in our library. Keeping it up to date helps your kids know what they can do right now, without waiting for a trip to the store or a delivery to arrive. It’s an important part of helping kids be more independent in their creative journey.

How do I search, sort, or filter my supply cupboard?

Unfortunately, search, sort, and filter are still on our roadmap. Contact Us to tell us what you’d like to see from these features!

How do I add supplies to my cupboard?

Supplies can be added by taking a photo from within the Supply Cupboard, manually using a form, or after a project is completed. Snapping a photo from the Imagination Engine also adds the supply to your cupboard.

Adding Supplies from a photo

Keeping your supply cupboard up to date is as easy as snapping a photo!

From the Supply Cupboard, tap or click New Supply From Photo. Take a photo, or choose one from your image gallery. Our friendly MakerBot AI will analyze the photo and confirm its findings before saving it to your household supply cupboard.

Supply Quantities

For each supply in your cupboard, you can specify if you have

  • None (All out!)

  • One

  • A few

  • Some or

  • A lot

Tracking inventory is helpful because GlueStick can display a warning if we think you might not have enough of a supply to finish a project. We may also be able to offer you a coupon from a brand partner if we notice you’re all out of one of our favorite supplies. If you are all out of a supply, you have two options: Mark it as “all out,” or delete the supply entirely. We recommend marking something “all out” if you intend to replace it. Delete supplies that were a one-off purchase.

Supply Descriptions and Color

Some supplies have special attributes that differentiate them from similar supplies. For example, buttons can be large or small, shank, two-hole or 4-hole and any color of the rainbow. In some projects, these descriptions are important - a puppet with red button eyes will look very different than one with black buttons. Other projects are more flexible. Description and color fields are always optional in your household supply cupboard so you can choose the level of detail that works for you.
